Goodwill Garden

The Goodwill Garden’s goal is to support marginalized people in gaining access to fresh local organic produce. Surrounded by native and drought-tolerant landscaping the 1.5 acre garden includes composting systems, a fog catcher, and a hügelculture display.

The program is a unique partnership led by Everyone’s Harvest involving Marina Tree and Garden ClubGoodwill of the Central Coast, Veterans Transition Center, Hope Services,Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula Wellness Center, and NCI Affiliates. Hope Services staff member Carolyn Overholt shares that, “the garden has been a haven of serenity, friendship, and shared knowledge.” This is especially a benefit for veterans who must deal with mental health and physical disabilities, and the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
