Edible Education for Healthy Families
Everyone’s Harvest helps families discover the joy of preparing healthy meals at home by observing cooking demonstrations by professional chefs and nutritional tastings by Everyone’s Harvest Edible Education staff. What makes Everyone’s Harvest cooking demonstrations unique is that participants receive samples of the recipes, in English and Spanish, free recipe cards, and a $10 produce voucher to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at the farmers’ market to encourage healthy eating at home.
The Edible Education staff also provide Food Navigation for all ages at the farmers’ markets and at community events to inform the public of affordable food resources throughout the county as well as provide engaging, interactive activities for all ages to learn about food and nutrition.
“Because of Everyone’s Harvest, my children and I shop together and eat vegetables we didn’t even know were edible!” reported Nancy Castellanos, Marina resident, mother of four.
Everyone’s Harvest’s community food programs would not be possible without our fantastic Partners and Collaborators, as well as funding from generous donations and grants from the following grantors:
