Everyone’s Harvest Special Events for 2012

All events are FREE to the public!

 

Healthy Interactive Cooking Workshops

Workshops take place on the third Sunday (Marina Market) and third Monday (Pacific Grove Market) of each month. Click the link below to see a full schedule of Workshops.These workshops, part of Everyone’s Harvest’s Edible Education for Healthy Youth program, are free to the public, grant-sponsored by the Nancy Buck Ransom Foundation and Project 17. Participants enter Everyone’s Harvest’s outdoor kitchen and learn from a chef to prepare a healthy meal using the bounty of fresh, local produce found at the farmers’ markets. When the workshop is complete, the first 10 families to participate receive a $10 farmers’ market coupon to shop the market.

Learn about African-American History in a Jeopardy-style quiz–First 25 participants will receive a farmers’ market coupon! Afro-centric arts and crafts, music from the Harlem Renaissance, and a kale chip demo will also be presented.

Easter at the Market
Celebrate Easter at the Marina Market with a fun Farmers’ Market Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. The first 25 participants will receive a farmers’ market coupon. Kids can make bunny ears and other spring crafts at our free kids’ booth.

Celebrating Kids’ Week and Earth Day
MY Museum’s Wheelie Mobliee rolls up to the market to provide unique family fun activity carts and tables. Families can dig into 50 pounds of Moon Sand, experiment with magnetism and solar power. Everyone’s Harvest leads seed sowing and planting activities. All activities are free to the public. Event sponsored by FIRST 5 of Monterey County.

Monterey Regional Waste Management District will provide information on “Greener Gardening.” Learn how to incorporate the 3 R’s into your home garden, including basic “how-tos” of composting and “compost coaching” for home composters. Enter our drawing and one lucky winner will take home their very own compost bin to help you get started!
