What is “Certified Organic”?

Organic refers to the way food is grown. Organic food is produced using methods that maintain and replenish soil fertility without toxic, persistent pesticides or fertilizers. Certified Organic means a USDA-accredited agency has confirmed that the farmer meets all USDA organic requirements.
