Barbara Ghazarian: Queen of Quince


Barbara Ghazarian (aka Queen of Quince) is a New York Times acclaimed cookbook author. With the publication of her most recent cookbook, Simply Quince, Barbara has become known as the Queen of Quince. She is passionate about cooking the food of her Armenian ancestry. Simply Quince built on the success of her first award-winning cookbook, Simply Armenian: Naturally Healthy Ethnic Cooking Made Easy (2004, 2010 3rd printing). The California Rare Fruit Growers declared 2014 the “Year of the Quince.” Barbara celebrated the heirloom fruit’s resurgence as the keynote speaker at the national fruit-growers convention in Portland, OR this August.  Valerie Kazansky: Carmel Cooking Coach


Early on, Valerie earned her teaching credential from UC Davis and after seven years of public school teaching, she decided to pursue her first true passion: cooking. So she enrolled in Le Cordon Blue in Paris. Upon her return, she worked as a chef at L’Escargot in Sacramento, and started a catering business, Valerie and Company. She continues learning new cuisines and techniques, and she especially loves creating dishes for each individual taste. Valerie moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1980, and taught cooking classes at The Peppercorn in Carmel, at Monterey Peninsula College, and nutrition at Hartnell College. Teaching quickly expanded into catering and private cooking classes. All her life, Valerie has loved both cooking and teaching- being a cooking coach is the perfect vehicle for her to share these two creative passions. To learn more about Valerie, click here!


Kari Bernardi: Super Natural Chef


 Kari Bernardi, aka Super Natural Chef, is a certified Gourmet Raw Food Chef and Instructor. Kari is the owner and executive chef of a raw vegan gluten free product line called Super Natural Foods Company in Carmel California. She was the founding Director of Monterey County’s Farm to School Partnership Program and a former faculty member at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute. Kari continues to be instrumental in supporting policies promoting healthy school food, bringing fresh fruits and vegetables into schools and teaching farm fresh nutrition education to students around the world. For over 20 years Kari has shared her teaching expertise to help people thrive on a plant-based diet and has taught students from 3 years old to 95 years young. Paul Lee: Rancho Cielo

paulAfter 30 years of cooking for mountain resorts, Chef Paul J Lee moved to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula, where he was quickly taken in by the local chefs and has thrived as a leading culinary educator. Currently, he is focused on educating and training students as Rancho Cielo. Paul was honored as Monterey’s ACF 2006 Chef of the Year and United Way’s 2012 Adult Volunteer of the Year. Candice Masters: Gourmet Country

candiceCandice Masters the executive Vice President of her company Gourmet Country has taken the company in a new direction which is more locally oriented. Candice is presenting cooking demonstrations and workshops at the farmers market of Everyone’s Harvest, a socially conscious market affordable to everyone. She offers 6 weeks of cooking classes in her home kitchen at the ranch limited to 8 students. In addition she currently offers private dinners in her home or her client’s home an intimate “dinning in” experience. For travelers she offers a Room at the Ranch which can be booked through air B&B. She is also developing products to sell at the local farmers markets!


Terry Teplitzky: Wild Thyme Deli

terryChef Terry Teplitzy graduated in 1979 from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Terry has owned Michael’s Catering, a full-service catering company serving the Monterey Peninsula, since 1996. In 2002, he opened Wild Thyme Deli and Café in Marina. Terry’s awards and recognitions include “Best Caterer”, named by the Coast Weekly in 2009, 2010, and 2011; “Best New Business”, named by the Monterey County Chamber of Commerce in 2001, and “Chef of the Year”, named by American Association in 1993. Rondi Robinson

rondiRondi Robison is a Certified Health Coach, AADP and Yoga Instructor, RYT who supports her clients and their families to make step-by-step changes in their food and lifestyle choices, so that they permanently reach their health goals. She supports them to do so in a way that’s enjoyable and easily integrated into their lives. Rondi works with clients to help them create a healthier and happier life, navigate through life’s transitions and alternative modalities, maintain maximum health, reduce stress, have more energy, and reach their individual health goals. Rondi has always had an interest in health and nutrition, exercise, yoga, and healing. Rondi was a competitive athlete for many years and has been teaching yoga for more than 12 years. Rondi has worked with and overcome a number of her own health and life challenges through modifying her food and lifestyle including weight gain, scoliosis, parenting a low birth weight child, and the stress from many of life’s major transitions. She loves working with others to meet their unique health goals!
