Everyone’s Harvest is always looking for nice, reliable, motivated and enthusiastic volunteers. We sincerely thank our volunteers for all of their hard work—without their efforts and commitment, many Market events and activities would not be possible!
Becoming a volunteer with Everyone’s Harvest will give you an opportunity to meet small-scale family farmers and local vendors, learn what it takes to put on a Certified Farmers’ Market and connect with your local community.
To Volunteer with Everyone’s Harvest

2. Pick an opportunity that is interesting to you, during a time that you are available
3. Download, fill out and turn in a Volunteer Application
4. After we receive your volunteer application our volunteer coordinator will contact you within two weeks.

- Marina Certified Farmers’ Market (Marina Village Shopping Center, 215 Reservation Rd.) Sundays between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM
- Pacific Grove Certified Farmers’ Market (Central and Grand Ave, by the library and park) Mondays between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM
- Everyone’s Harvest office (3180 Imjin Rd. Suite 149 in Marina. Note: Turn in when you see 3200) Wednesdays and Fridays between 9 AM and 5 PM
Volunteer Opportunities:
Information/Outreach Booth at our Certified Farmers’ Markets
Manage the Market’s information booth including greeting and answering questions from the general public, conducting EBT (the modern food stamp) transactions, and working to improve the booth’s educational material provided to the public. Assist Market Manager with working with the farmers, such as passing out load list and checking producers’ certificates. Assist the Market Manager with the set-up and/or take-down of the Market including moving cones, tables, and chairs.
Kid’s Activities Table at our Certified Farmers’ Markets
Manage the Market’s Kid’s Activities Table. Develop and conduct activities to engage kid’s at the Market to learn about fresh produce, small-scale family farmers, and creative ways for them to express themselves. Assist the Market Manager with the set-up and/or take-down of the Market including moving cones, tables, and chairs.
Garden Information Table at our Certified Farmers’ Markets
Use your personal expertise to provide information to the general public on how to start and maintain their own organic gardens at the Farmers’ Market. Provide written and oral information for beginning and advanced gardening skills, seasonality, and benefits of growing one’s own fruits and vegetables. Possibly run a plan/seed exchange table at the Market.
Nutritional Cooking Demonstrations at our Certified Farmers’ Markets
Promote healthy eating through a healthy cooking demonstration at the Farmers’ Market. Present demonstrations of healthy recipes for Market customers utilizing fresh, seasonal ingredients available at the Markets. Hand out samples of these recipes for customers to taste. Provide recipe cards for customers to take with them. Make healthy cooking and eating easy, accessible and fun for the general public.
Music at the Certified Farmers’ Markets
Create a system to bring consistent music to the Farmers’ Markets. Work includes surveying musicians, customers and vendors, recruiting musicians to play at the Markets, and playing (if you like) or bringing and managing Everyone’s Harvest PA at the Markets.
Re-usable Bags at the Certified Farmers’ Markets
Design and conduct activities to inspire customers to limit their use of one-use bags at the Markets. Activities could include sewing re-usable produce bags at the Markets or at home.
Special Events
Assist Everyone’s Harvest with organizing special events at the Markets. Coordinate with other non-profits to participate in special events and/or table at the Markets.
Educational Materials and/or Presentations at our Certified Farmers’ Markets
Share your unique knowledge with the community. Prepare written educational materials for Market customers, or an interactive educational activity to be presented at a Market table. Topics can vary greatly; all presentations need to be family appropriate.
Newsletter
Design and write a Newsletter for Everyone’s Harvest to update the community on upcoming special events, products that can be found at our Markets, and information about our vendors.
Certified Farmers’ Market Tours
Lead tours at our Certified Farmers’ Markets on a topic of your interest. Engage market customers with information related to the Markets, such as seasonal vegetables, Market vendors, local agriculture and organic farming. Get to know market vendors and help build a sense of community by connecting with customers and vendors on a personal level.
Everyone’s Harvest Edible Education for Healthy Youth Program
The Everyone’s Harvest Edible Education for Healthy Youth Program teaches youth and their families about nutrition, small-scale family farmers and exercise. The Edible Ed program conducts Farmers’ Market scavenger hunts, healthy cooking workshops and interactive nutrition demonstrations. These Edible Ed activities educate and empower youth and their families on the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables and how to incorporate healthier lifestyle changes.
As a volunteer with the Edible Ed program, you would assist the Everyone’s Harvest to recruit, host, and run Edible Ed sessions at the market. Educate participants on the importance of fresh produce, farmers’ markets, small-scale family farmers, and active living. Assist Everyone’s Harvest with program set-up and take-down info structure including moving and cleaning tables, tents, and cooking supplies.
Fundraising/Proposal Writing
Assist Everyone’s Harvest with acquiring the funds necessary to develop and improve our Certified Farmers’ Markets and our organization.
Accounting Assistant
Conduct cost analysis on Everyone’s Harvest expenses. Assist with Everyone’s Harvest 2012 budget forecasting. Compile and input into Everyone’s Harvest QuickBooks system inventory and in-kind donations.
Marketing/Outreach Support
Assist Everyone’s Harvest with marketing for our Certified Farmers’ Markets including word-of-mouth, internet, posters, flyers, coupons, and social networking systems. Update and posts events and news on Everyone’s Harvest Facebook account. Draft email blasts to market customers. Update Market email lists and improve farmer profiles.
California State University Monterey Bay Farm Stand Project
Lead a research project to identify the need of a farm stand on the CSUMB campus. Work with the Executive Director, do research, collect data through surveys, and conduct interviews to identify the feasibility of a farm stand on the CSUMB campus.
Organizational Development
Assist the executive director in developing and improving existing Certified Farmers’ Markets. Work toward improving best organizational practices.
Farmer and Vendor Support and Development
Get to know a specific vendor. Assist the vendor with working with customers. Provide translation in Spanish and English. Identify the farmer or vendor’s business needs and work to identify and gain resources to meet these needs.
